We have talekd about traffic before here at Mishaps, but I really want to stress the following program. If you have not signed up, why not give it a try? You start with a certain amount of free credits, then as you look at other web sites, or blogs- you earn 1-6 credits each. How easy is that? You are then put into the rotation to receive free traffic to the sites you have linked.

Really, this one is a no brainer. I have participated for several months, now and have been very happy with the results. Also, some of the sites you are presented to choose from are great traffic builders, too! Set your own filters for the types of web sites you want to browse... Marketing, shopping, selling online, family, recipes, etc. You look when you want, know massive amounts of emails filling your boxes- you decide, the program is on your terms, it is free! Give it a go.

How to Get Your Website Visitors to Willingly Supply You with Plenty of Fresh Content

If you are like most people, you probably have more commitments than time. You make cuts to help compensate, typically setting aside the more time consuming tasks like writing fresh content for your business. Some people find it easier to hire a writer than try to schedule time to write but what if we told you, you could also get content for free?

Here are two easy ways to get your visitors to willing give you content at no cost.

1) Encourage Commenting on Your Blog

The first thing you need to realize is that it takes time so if you don’t have tons of comments right off the bat, don’t be discouraged…just keep at it. A blog that is up-to-date with fresh content will encourage more and more commenting.

Just like with any other marketing you do for your business, you need to first build a relationship with your blog readers. Blog readers need to feel like they “know” you and the more you post and the more real you come across to your readers the easier it will be for them to approach you and build that relationship.

Make your blog convenient for your readers by setting up an RSS feed and email notifications of new posts. You’re busy and so are your readers, so don’t waste their time by making them check everyday to see if you’ve posted something new.

Give your readers something to talk about and respond to by asking questions and voicing your opinions on hot topics. When given the invitation to communicate with you more will do so.

2) Encourage People to Post Product Reviews

One of the reasons Amazon.com does so well is because it allows its visitor to contribute their own opinions. People love to give their opinions and people also love to hear other people’s opinions about products.

You can do the same thing. Post simple product reviews for products that your target market is interested in and allow your visitors to add their own comments, full reviews and ratings. As more people leave reviews, the more likely your site will be the go-to place for product reviews in your particular subject area.

Tell your blog visitors, subscribers and visitors about the product review system. You can even offer a points and ratings system where reviews can earn rewards for the quality and frequency of their reviews.
Getting your visitors to willing give you content won’t just happen over night, you still have to work with and supply some initial content and points of discussion, but once it gets going participation starts to multiply.

What Many Businesses Miss: A Multi-Billion Dollar Market

The goal of any business is to make money. And, we’re not just talking about the short term but long term goals of increased revenue. To that end, many businesses are missing out on a multi-billion dollar market: moms. Marketing to moms is the wave of the now and the future.

Why are moms so important?

Moms are enterprising. According to BSM Media Inc., mom spending is already over the trillion dollar mark. That’s more than the budget of some third world countries.

Also according to BSM Media Inc., almost 90 percent of moms consider themselves the financial head of the home. Her husband may bring home most of the bacon but it is the moms who decide how to spend it. They shop for everything related to the household: kids clothing, appliances, electronics, outdoor furniture, accessories and home improvement items.

Moms are also savvy on the Internet. The trend for many years has been moms coming out of the workplace and starting their own businesses at home to spend more time with their kids. To that end, moms have developed a network of blogs, websites and forums designed to teach moms everything from designing websites, starting Internet businesses, marketing to other moms and managing their homes all the while. Their buying power increased exponentially with their knowledge.

Manly mistake?

Traditionally the only products marketed towards women were household products and cooking items. This goes back to the archaic thought that a woman’s place was in the home. That has been a huge detriment to many companies as they are beginning to see.

Women and moms have made an imprint in the man’s world in many areas. Women are not limited to office jobs; they are CEOs and CFOs. They don’t just surf the Web, they are becoming entrepreneurs with widening influence over Internet marketing. Having moms shun your product because you are not marketing to them means they are also spreading the word to other moms across the world (via the Internet) and in their own communities.

The future

Moms are influenced by other moms. Several generations of moms are coming together to influence the spending habits of major corporations. In the future the trend will continue. As moms become more “connected” in the world, their spending will increase. No product is off limits to mom advertising.

With the opportunities in online business growing more and more every day, it’s almost time to ask the question, “What CAN’T be sold online?” However, there are some things that fair better than others when it comes to selling on the Internet. Articles provide information; they don't sell. You'll be able to promote yourself as an expert in the craft field, which will in turn, bring you more customers. Just remember that article marketing is about informing, not advertising. The increased business is just a nice bonus of the articles.

But what could you write about, right? Pause for a moment and think about what you know, or what you didn't always know, but because of what you learned you are now able to produce better, faster, prettier crafts?

Increasing your traffic! Make more Sales series- #5

One of the keys to building your customer base, getting your products seen, and really promoting your store, blog, or items is to get the traffic there. This is a lot harder than it seems. Originally, I thought, "heck, just put your url in some search engines and your set. The people will come running" Well, it does not work that way. There is a lot of competition out there. You not only want traffic, but you want the right kind of traffic- meaning you want people who are truly looking for your type of product to be able to find you.

You also want the occassional person who just stumbles across your site. These are the people who may not know they are interested in your item. How many times have you stumbled upon a site, then thought, "Wow! that is really cool"? You bookmark it, mention it to a friend or two, then go back to it again later. Well, traffic and rotator services provide you those unique customers who may not realize they are searching for your product, but will check it out.

When using the traffic services and rotators you will need to make sure you are very descriptive in your site or shop promotion. Most services offer viewers several sites to choose from each time they log in. Therefore, you have to put the best bait on your hook and gear it towards the right audience. For example, traffic swarm below, allows you to write a description, add a "catch line" which is posted in bold above the description, and choose up to 3 categories for the target audience. You can even become more selective by logging into your account (once signed up) and choosing male/female, age ranges, occupations, etc. for your target audience.
